BANGALORE, India Satyam Computer Services will set up a 2,000-seat software enginerering center in Malaysia. The new center follows the creation of a 100-seat center by Satyam in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, three years ago.
An initial agreement was signed between Satyam and Malaysia's Multimedia Development Corp., an agency of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
Satyam joins IBM, EDS, Affiliated Computer Services, Intel and other companies that have established development centers in Malaysia. However, local press reports suggested Intel's Cyberjaya facility could be one of the first to be cut.
Dell is also reportedly poised to set up a technology development center in Cyberjaya with about 1,000 full-time staff.
Jonathan Hopfner in Singapore contributed to this report.
