Why verification engineers are like football players

Verification projects, like football games, are won when the team operates at peak performance.
In the verification space, we measure bugs found instead of points scored, but we do use a combination of specialized players and equipment to achieve our wins.
For sure we always want the greatest performance in each of the specialized parts of our team, but we need to measure how they work together to generate verification efficiency.
The greater our verification efficiency, the better we can maximize productivity, predictability, and quality on our way to winning every verification "game" we play.
